I served in the USMC a while ago. I figured it was time to make a Marine Corps inspired American flag. This project was definitely a bit more work and still had its imperfections. I used 1/2 MDF and first sprayed the MDF with black paint+primer. I then sprayed with lacquer then applied the Oramask 831. For the CNC I used 1/4 down cut end mill for the profile cut and pocket tool path for the the strips. I then used a 1/8 up cut end mill (I should have used down cut but didn’t have one) for the clearing path then 60 degree vbit for the final path. After all the cutting the work of sectioning off the EGA, stripes, and the Union for paint was the tedious part. All of the paint was paint+primer from Home Depot. And then I finished with lacquer. Enjoy!
