►Lesson Description: In this video I ramble a bit on my journey into linux 🙂 Linux is my primary operating system, and I still remember the joy of getting my first linux setup. With all of the variety, it can be hard to choose, but I want to at the very least show you a few different linux/unix variations that got me started. I am challenging @cppweekly @JacobSorber and @javidx9 to continue the trend through a video, tweet, or comment! My journey really began with Mandrake Linux which was available for free on the cover of a magazine. Then I started using Solaris (A Unix-based operating system, with some support for Linux binaries) in school, that helped change my mental model with using computers. Finally, I used debian, which is one of the most open operating systems during my graduate school work. And *spoiler alert* — now I primarily use Ubuntu for my daily work (including WSL when on a windows machine 🙂 ).
