New customer ordered a set of these prototype parts from Aluminum that are suppose to be going up into space. Machined in our Okuma Genos 560V and programmed in Mastercam. These were delivered a few weeks ago and so far the customer is very happy. I’m waiting for word on more of these. The program is not perfect but the job is done and correct. Very light and flimsy when finished so I had to be super careful in not distorting these in the vise. They are grippers for a telescopic arm that will grab something out in space. I’m consider myself much better on the CNC Lathes but really enjoy jumping on the CNC Mills to get nice parts done. Took a bit of figuring like every new job but I’m glad they are done and correct. This is one of the first times that I know of that our parts were going that high. Many parts all over the world but never out in space not till now.
