Testing the new chain-driven X axis.
The chain-driven axis is FAST. And LOUD.
But it’s FAST.
The new Z axis isn’t working. There’s severe binding causing the motor to stall almost immediately. I need to play with the anti-backlash nut block, and possibly make a new Z front plate. It looks like the rails aren’t exactly parallel, and a two of the bearings are slightly out of alignment. I’m going to make a new plate which will hopefully take care of that.
The Y axis is showing some binding at the ends of the rails. They may also be slightly out of alignment. I may re-make the gantry sides.
On a positive note, the belt coupling for the motor and Y axis lead screw works very well, and my tensioner hack is holding up beautifully.
